The Certified Music Practitioner

A Certified Music Practitioner is trained to bring appropriate
live music to the bedside of the ill and dying.
Each graduate of the Music For Healing and Transition Program has
completed a course of study which includes medical and musical classes
taught by qualified instructors.

A Certified Music Practitioner provides a service, not entertainment
and is trained to be responsible and unobtrusive. The live music played
by the practitioner is not meant to be a performance or concert, but beneficial,
therapeutic music tailored to individual and changing patient needs.

A person may engage a Music Practitioner to play for a friend or family member,
or for themselves. The type of music played and the duration of playing time
usually depend on the condition of the patient.
